The Odd Couple The Story

Did you ever think what it would be like to live with your best friend…and really wish you’d never met them?

Felix Ungar, a neurotic neat freak, is thrown out by his wife; best friend, Oscar Madison, a messy sportswriter, is also in the process of being divorced by his wife. Worried that Felix will try something desperate, Oscar invites Felix to move in with him. Soon the two are on the edge of killing each other. Felix is driven to the edge by Oscar’s mess. Oscar is ready to beat Felix thanks to Felix’s obsessive cleanliness.

Neil Simon’s brilliant 1965 Broadway play is one of the timeless classics of modern theatre, pitting the archetype roommates against each other amidst laughter and the drama of trying to get on with your life when it falls apart – and how friendship can make us crazy and how it can help heal the deepest wounds.
