As a filler, because I’m really crazy busy today with the Real World work, I present the photos that Sean M. Puckett took at the May 5 rehearsal (sadly, we were missing Jonathan C. Dietrich as he took care of his wife who’d become ill, so Lisa Hagen, one of our ASMs filled in for [...]

Health and the actor
I don’t think I have ever done a show that didn’t develop a “show plague”. For all that we take care of ourselves and we’re all grownups, stuff happens. Shrew is no different. Last week, Nick texted me saying he was going to be home thanks to a burgeoning bug. Tonight, he was at rehearsal, [...]
The Unexpected
(Today’s author is Jonathan C. Dietrich – Grumio from the production. I asked him to tell me a story about his acting experiences for the blog. Enjoy!) I recently realized that the summer of 2010 will mark my twenty fifth year of doing community theatre. Along the way, I have learned how actors need to [...]
“Drop and give me 30 lines!”

Hurray for the costumers!
What continually pleases and amazes me is the way the theatre community comes together when “stuff needs to be done”. Thank you to Jenn Annis & Jenny Hill, our beleaguered costumers have the assistance they need to keep the evil demanding director off their backs!
Looking for some costuming assistance
So I have this grand plan. I want the actors to be able to spend the month of June working with the costumes. Getting used to the feel of the clothes they’ll have to wear & the ways they enable and limit their characters. My costumers are doing their best, but with one a teacher [...]
